    De-Stress

I am back from vacation! I feel like I abandoned my blog but I needed some time to just chill out. It was a vacation for me but I don’t think so much for my husband because he wore himself out skiing. I was not the best behaved eater or drinker, but it was a short vacation so whatever weight I put back on, which was approximately 2 pounds, I should have off hopefully by Friday. I have to say I drink so much water because it was so cold and dry in Colorado I think I probably drank four times as much water as I normally do. What I…

    Full Body Workout

This is a great work out if you cannot get to the gym or you can do it at the gym. With everybody coming down with the flu, being home with sick kids, you could do this in your living room. All you need is your yoga mat or your carpet and some weights. For those who are more advanced- up the counts, maybe do more rounds and you can also use heavier weights. I suggest if you’re a beginner start with 3 to 5 pounds depending on what kind of shape you’re in. This will probably be my last blog post for about a week I am going on…

    Two Great Weekend Recipes

My husband and I worked out today after my daughters flag football playoff game. We won’t go into that, let’s just say not a good season. My hubby was the assistant coach and I am so glad we are done for the season! Of course it was lunch time after the game and workout, and I needed to feed the three of us. Instead of running to the store or a restaurant I remembered I had a rotisserie chicken in the refrigerator, but I wanted the Paleo pizza I put in the freezer last week. I knew I needed protein right away to get the best benefits out of my…

    Massage Time

One of the most important things that you can do for yourself is getting a massage, and not just a relaxation massage. If you work out you need a deep tissue or Bodyworks massage. These are a little bit more involved, they work on areas that you’ve been having issues with or that are sore or weaker. The therapist figures out what that area needs and what the problem is. There’s many ways they can treat you, this includes percussion activation, micro-currents and deep tissue massage of the layers of fascia. Pressure point therapy also works wonders. If you can find a therapist that can do all of this, you…

    Paleo & Arthritis

I started following the Paleo plan in March 2017. I needed a change to get my extra 20 pounds off me, and my trainer gave me a few choices. He wanted me to try one of these plans: Paleo, Atkins or South Beach. I’ve done South Beach in the past and it wasn’t my favorite, and Atkins to me is not a healthy diet, so I decided that I would try Paleo. I found that I could do it, but it was hard at first giving up dairy, grains, legumes and sugar. I was going to give up sugar anyway, so that wasn’t hard. I eased into Paleo as I…

    Chicken Meatballs with Zoodles

I love to make up my own recipes based on things I’ve made in the past. I always like to make extra usually to freeze, but this time I made extra for my sister. She was in a snowmobile accident up in Montana and dislocated her shoulder and broke her Humerus on her right side, which of course is her dominant side. She basically tries to eat organic, gluten-free and Paleo, so this was perfect for her. The problem she has  now is that she won’t be doing a lot of the cooking.  Her husband usually buys whatever he wants which of course is not gluten-free or organic, so now…

    Let’s HIIT Some Cardio

I started my new cardio kick and the best way for me to do cardio is to do a HIIT because otherwise I get totally bored! If you’re wondering what a HIIT is, it’s a high intensity interval training workout. It is a great way to burn fat, and if you want to kick-start your metabolism and burn that fat start putting a HIIT into your workout. The best way to do that is pick something you like to do whether it’s jogging, running, walking, the elliptical or bicycle (indoor or out). It could be any cardio of your choice. If you’re just starting to exercise, walking or biking is…

    How Do You See Yourself?

Once upon a time, I had some great muscles and I was at the perfect place for me. The perfect size, happy with my weight, and looking good. Let’s call that three years ago, pre-menopause. Then menopause happened! My diet habits weren’t so great and I put some weight on. Now, I have that weight off, and I’m at a good size again.  My muscles are where they should be, but I can’t see them like I want to or used to. I have 7 to 10 pounds to lose because my weight fluctuates all the time. Now I have to lean out. When I lean out my muscles will be…
